Visit At Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri
Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship organized an outbound activity for first year students on 05th October, 2024 to explore the historical and cultural significance of Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri as part of their study of the Indian Knowledge System. This initiative was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Director (Incharge) and coordinated by the first-year coordinators of the MBA, MBA-IT and MBA-HRD programs.
During the visit, students explored the memorial building dedicated to Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri discussing its architectural significance and historical context. They also visited the temple within the complex engaging in discussions about its cultural importance. To deepen their understanding, students were divided into groups to research various aspects of the Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri with representatives presenting their findings thereby enhancing collaborative learning and public speaking skills.
Dr. Vasimraja Sayed provided valuable insights into the historical relevance of Mahadaji Shinde Chhatri. Additionally, the group visited the nearby tomb of Mansoor Ali Shah which illustrated the intermingling of diverse cultures and religions in Indian history further enriching the educational experience.
