True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied. – Aadil Palkhivala
Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Yoga events were organized and celebrated over five days, from 16th June to 21st June 2022 with the active participation of students, faculty, staff members and senior citizens residing within the vicinity of our premises as we strongly believe in Loving Thy Neighbor.
On the first day, i.e 16th June, 2022 our students began their day practicing Sukshma Yoga so as to unite the body with the soul thereby attaining a sense of mental peace and eliminating negative energy from our bodies.
The next day started by performing Surya Namaskar which increases awareness forming a deeper connection between the body, breath and consciousness. The real beauty of performing Surya Namaskar is that we are able to able to expand our hearts abilities to love and feel gratitude.
The third day commenced by practicing Dand Paramparagat Vyayaam (Yoga for lower body) which assists in strectching the upper body thereby releasing the tension caused from bad habits especially poor posture while hunching over to look into smartphones making us feel more open, healthy and happy.
The fourth day began by practicing Dand Paramparagat Baithak Vyayaam which helps to tone the lower body thereby bringing the lower back body in shape and also improving the overall body strength.
Finally, on the last day , i.e on the eve of International Yoga Day, we kick started by performing asanas under the guidance of an instructor who guided and throwed light on the importance of each asanas as to how it plays a vital role in our daily life. Thereafter, a rally was also organized to spread the message and create an awareness regarding the significance of Yoga in achieving physical and mental peace thereby making our life free of stress and worries.
