Every year, 15th August is celebrated as Independence Day across the nation. It is the day when we all get together to thank and remember the innumerable sacrifices of our great freedom fighters who freed us from the clutches of British rule. This year is a special one as we will be completing 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. The Government of India has initiated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence.

We at PIMSE celebrated Independence Day to re- ignite the spirit of nationalism and to honour the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. The celebration started with the arrival of Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Director (Incharge) who unfurled the national tricolor followed by the singing of national anthem. Thereafter, she delivered a highly motivating speech focusing on the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of activating India 2.0, building a new, AatmaNirbhar Bharat. She emphasized on how students can take an active role in taking our country to greater heights and insisted them to pledge towards working for the betterment and upliftment of India.

 This momentous function ended with utmost fervour, zest and a spirit of patriotism. It concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sheena Abraham.
